How to Start Using Instagram
Download the application on your device for free. Once done with the download, proceed with the installation. Once the application is installed, an Instagram icon will be added to your home screen. Tap on the icon and tap on the Sign Up button. Enter the information asked including your e-mail, username and password. You may also enter your phone number if you want, as well as upload your photo. Once done with the registration, you can now start finding friends and sharing photos.
Find Friends to Follow
Tap on the profile tab and tap on the Find Friends option. There are several ways on how to find people you know through this feature. You may find friends on Twitter and Facebook that had their accounts synced with their Instagram accounts. You may also search a specific username or the name of a certain individual. If you want to search users based on their interest or photos they share, search using hashtags. Hashtags are keywords used on photos that make them searchable to other users. It is written by using # then followed by the keyword. For instance searching for #lovequote will yield results of love quotes photos. You may follow the users who uploaded these photos. If you want to check out popular users and photos that you may also follow, tap on the star icon at the bottom of the application. This will show the popular list. Tap on the username that you want to follow and you will be redirected to the profile. Tap on the follow button to follow the user.
How to Upload Photos
You may share photos by capturing an image using your device and instantly uploading it to Instagram. If you have saved photos on your phone that you want to share on Instagram, this is also possible. Tap the share or camera icon at the bottom of the screen. This is the icon next to the star icon. This will automatically activate your device’s camera. Take a picture, and the filters will appear. Try each filter and see which effect you would like to use. The border icon on the upper left corner of the screen will enable or disable the border by tapping. Once done, tap the green check mark button. If you want to upload a picture that is saved on your device, tap on the camera icon then tap on the double square icon on the lower left corner of the window.
